Taking a Chance is an atmospheric retelling of a universal story of second chances, shared passions and buried secrets.
The play explores the themes of relationships, dreams and reality.
When two old flames meet up, Mick hopes to revive the future together they once planned.
But will Linzi take a chance on love?
Or is there just too much baggage?

The concept
A radio play which can be staged, written as a long form narrative poem with musical interludes.
2 actors. 2 voices. Male and female
A musician, or musicians
The two actors narrate but also become the characters in sections of dialogue, moving seamlessly between character and narrator
The production
The nature of the piece means it’s perfect for a bar, club or dinner theatre setting – as well as a more traditional theatre space.
Taking a Chance was first produced as part of the Mole Valley Arts Alive Festival, in the back room of the Stepping Stones pub in Westhumble and was presented as a recording for radio with the cast reading to mic and the musician to one side. A feedback session produced highly favourable reactions, and the consensus was that this experiment really worked as a piece of theatre.
The production featured Darren Cheek and Debbie Christie as the cast with writer Tony Earnshaw providing the music on saxophone.
